At River East Insurance, we know that filing a claim can be stressful. Our role is to make the process smoother while protecting your best interests. Please read the following carefully so you know what to expect and how we can help.
Should I File a Claim?

It is ultimately your decision whether to file a claim.

Claims can affect your future premiums. While we cannot predict exact increases, most carriers will consider claims history when setting rates and making underwriting decisions. This can include non-renewals or even other carriers declining to offer coverage.

Be sure to weigh your deductible against the potential payment. We can confirm your deductible amount so you understand the out-of-pocket cost.
How to File a Claim

Most carriers prefer you, the client, to file directly using their claims portal or claims department phone number.

Filing directly ensures the fastest communication with your adjuster.

It is not recommended that River East files claims on your behalf, as direct communication with the adjuster is key.

If you need help, our office can join a three-way call with you and the carrier’s claims department to walk you through the process.
What We Can Do for You

Confirm your deductible and policy number.

Provide claims phone numbers or portal links.

Read relevant sections of your policy so you understand the wording.

Remind you that claims must be filed promptly. Delays in reporting may lead to denial by the carrier.

Help if your claims adjuster is not responding or if you need assistance re-establishing contact.
What We Cannot Do

We cannot decide if a claim will be covered. Only the insurance carrier can determine coverage under the policy language.

We cannot guarantee how quickly a claim will be resolved or how much will be paid.

We cannot promise your premiums will or will not increase.

We cannot promise that you will be renewed after a claim.
